Tasting note: Alibernet has the deep colour of a teinturier variety. Fruits of the forest, vanilla and punch spice and ground poppy on the nose. Characterised by a full but round body and ripe tannins.

Winemaking: The grapes come from Madar (Modrany). Only one barrel of this is produced each year. After 21 days fermentation on the skins, it matures for ten months in new, small (220-litre) Zemplén oak barrels. It is fined and bottled unfiltered.

Food pairing: Game dishes, steak, dishes with fruits of the forest, mature cheeses, chocolate with high cocoa content.

Recommended serving temperature: 16-18ᵒC
